Negril Beach 2
Home ] Up ]

As you can see from some of these pictures,   Hurricane Mitch battered the shores of Negril Beach removing some of its famous white sand.  Area's further from Negril Town Center were hit the hardest,  while other area's seem to have not been affected greatly by the mighty storm.  On Sunday,   March 7th,  we snapped these pictures,  some of which show the progress of a strong effort to bring back the sand to the area's hit the hardest.  A floating pumping station is positioned away from the beach sucking sand from the ocean floor and delivering it back to the beach.  So far, as much as 20 feet of beach has been restored in some area's using this method. Our days in the sun,  and Lively Nights on Negril Beach remind us that Negril is still the most Beautiful Beach in the Caribbean.
