PEACE Day is celebrated in Jamaica on the first Tuesday of March and was officially launched by Governor General Sir Howard Cooke in a Proclamation Ceremony held at King's House in 1996. The objective of Peace Day is to create awareness amongst schools and the public of the need for peace.
